Screen Types

Your platform is built on three types of screens - Main Screens, Detail Screens, and Custom Screens - each serving a specific role in how content is displayed and managed across your apps and websites.

Main Screens

Key Features:

  • Fully editable via drag-and-drop in the App Editor

  • Each screen can be assigned to a specific content language

  • Linked to the Main Menu (footer in apps or sidebar on desktops) or the Header Menu (top tab)

Main Screens are the primary navigation points of your app. They offer full flexibility and are either linked via the Main Menu or the Header Menu on the Home Screen.

Main Menu

  • Appears in the bottom navigation bar (mobile) or left sidebar (desktop)

  • Can include up to 5 menu items

  • The last item is always reserved for the "For Me" screen (non-editable)

  • Menu structure is defined during onboarding and can only be changed via app update

  • The first screen linked from the leftmost icon is considered the Home Screen

Header Menu

  • Shown at the top of the Home Screen

  • Fully configurable: add/remove tabs, rename screens, and rearrange their order directly in the App Editor

Steps to Eidt

Go to Dashboard > App Eidor > Main Screens

  1. Select the App and Language

  2. Choose the Main Screen you want to edit

Adding and Deleting Main Screens:
Click the red pencil icon to manage your Main Screens.

  • A. Choose language for the screen tabs

  • B. Add a new screen

  • C. Delete a screen (unless locked via Main Menu)

  • D. Rename a screen

  • E. Toggle visibility in Header Menu (not applicable to locked Main Menu screens)

  • F. Rearrange screen order via drag-and-drop

Detail Screens

Detail Screens are linked to specific audio content types—Livestreams, Podcasts, or Playlists. They appear when a user taps on a content item (not when hitting play directly from a Section).

Examples

Key Features:

  • Can only be edited once the audio item is created

  • Partially editable: some screen components (e.g. headers, episode lists) are hardcoded and not removable

  • Only apply to the associated audio type (e.g. Podcast sections can’t be used on Livestream screens)

Steps to edit:

Go to Dashboard > App Eidor > Detail Screens

  1. Select Audio Type in the main Dashboard menu (left)

  2. Select the App and Language in the App Editor menu and optionally, choose a specific Livestream, Podcast, or Playlist.

If you do not select a specific Livestream, Podcast, or Playlist, your changes will apply to all Detail Screens of that type - as long as they haven’t been individually customized yet. This means you can first define a general layout for all items of a type and then create exceptions by customizing individual screens later.

Tip: Hardcoded UI elements (e.g. episode lists or fixed headers) will be shown in the editor preview but cannot be changed or removed.

Custom Screens

Custom Screens are not editable in the App Editor and do not appear there. They are always linked via the Main Menu and must be defined during onboarding.

How to add a Custom Screen:

You can't add a Custom Screen by yourself. Please contact Support for more information.

Available Custom Screen Types:

  • News Screen: Displays content from selected content categories in a fixed layout

  • Video Screen: Displays videos in a predefined format

  • Search Screen: Access to search engine for audio content (audio only)

  • Mixer Screen (PRO plan only): Access to custom mixes, created by the us

  • App Start Screen (available in apps only): Shows up as a fullscreen banner if the app is launched. Screen needs to be closed manually by the user to proceed. Works perfectly for promotions or ad campaigns.

How to edit a Custom Screen:

You can edit the following Custom Screen Types:

  • News Screen

  • Video Screen

  • App Start Screen

Custom Screens cannot be edited in the App Editor. They are exclusively managed through the Settings section. Go to: Custom Screens

The editing process is different from standard screens, as Custom Screens do not allow free layout design based on Sections. Instead, you can only configure the content sources that power these screens.
